Looking After the Ocean We Show You
Our trips depend on a healthy ocean, so we work to look after the whales, dolphins and other marine life we visit.
01
Safe viewing distance
We keep a safe distance from whales and their calves. The Marine Mammal Protection Act requires us to stay 100 yards away, and we do not touch, swim with or feed the wildlife.
02
Education
Our captains explain to every group why it matters to respect and protect marine mammals and other marine life.
03
Research
We support research through Happy Whale, and our crew are active members of the American Cetacean Society.
04
Rescue reports
We report distressed and entangled marine mammals to NOAA and SeaWorld rescue.
05
Cleaner engines
Our Suzuki engines are designed to make less noise, use less fuel and lower emissions. NALA’s twin Cummins QSC8.3 engines meet US EPA Tier 3 standards. About our boats.
06
Solar and recycling
We use solar panels, and we recycle our trash.

Picking Up Balloons and Trash
Balloons and trash can harm animals, birds, marine life and the ocean itself, so we pick them up when we find them.
